Ibiza legend Jose Padilla is returning to the sunset venue that, in large part, made his name during the Nineties – Café del Mar. Two gigs, later this month and next, will accompany a brand new single and, in due course, studio album.
Padilla’s original partnership with Café del Mar led to a string of globally successful, chill-out mix compilations, and reinforced his status as one of Ibiza’s purest originators. The 58-year-old now returns to San Antonio’s iconic venue on 23 May, before following up 20 June. Padilla also plays nearby Pikes Hotel on the latter date (alongside Pete Gooding and Greg Wilson), and then again on 5 September (also with Gooding).
All of this is complimented by Padilla’s first single in over a decade, Solito, due in July. A full-length album follows spring 2015; both are to be released via label International Feel.
