Contemporary clubland pioneers LCD Soundsystem – helmed by DFA co-founder James Murphy – will release a full recording of their epic farewell show at New York’s Madison Square Garden in 2011 (April 2).

The concert, dubbed The Long Goodbye, included material from the band’s entire run of albums, as well as their Nike-commissioned disco marathon 45.33.  It represented a compelling live sweep of Murphy’s unique LCD mantra, stretching from electro disco and indie-dance to rock, punk and leftfield electronica.  Special guests included Arcade Fire and Reggie Watts; the playlist ran for nearly four hours.

Murphy has mixed the album recording, which will first be released as a five-slate vinyl package on April 19 (for Record Store Day).
