Brit techno sage Luke Slater is to release an album under rarely-used alias LB Dub Corp this autumn.
Unknown Origin promises a pure dub-house and techno experience. According to Slater it’s something of a return to his roots; each track aims to tell a story, something he feels clubland is short on these days. Collaborators include Sandwell District’s Function, and acclaimed rasta-poet Benjamin Zephaniah (appearing on two tracks).
Slater will drop a preceding three-track single on October 14 via Ostgut Ton, the label upon which Unknown Origin then follows November 11 (and upon which Slater dropped cult 2010 LB Dub Corp cut Take It Down (In Dub).) Ostgut-affiliated club Berghain launches the new album with a major party on November 23, featuring Slater alongside Rolando, Function, The Advent and Marcel Dettmann.
Slater has previously released long-players via prominent aliases such as Planetary Assault Systems and The 7th Plain, as well as under his own name.
