Maceo Plex has mixed an album for the DJ-Kicks series.
Joining an illustrious group of producers, Plex – aka Eric Estornel – will drop his selection of influential electronica on April 29 through the venerable Studio !K7.
As ever, among the tracks selected for the mix, there will be an exclusive Maceo Plex recording made specially for the album, in this case a track called Galactic Cinema.
It sits alongside tracks from Jaydee, Kimbu Kimra, Visnadi, Eric Volta and Move D.

“For the last three years at least, the big trend has been early 90s house,” he says. “Everything’s a throwback. I think it’s the right time to put out something that’s a little more deep and futuristic again.
“This mix is kind of my legacy, or, at least, part of it. In ten or twenty years I’m going to want to go back and listen to this mix and I hope it’s still fresh.”
