With club residencies around the world, genre-defining productions and a trend setting A&R policy, Jesse Rose is now set to launch a new series entitled Made For The Night.
Jesse Rose is one of the most versatile DJs on the planet, as comfortable playing house at L.A Sunday bash ‘The Do-Over’ alongside Gaslamp Killer and DJ Quik as he is bringing the techno beats to Cocoon alongside Sven Vath. Jesse first started out recording for Derrick Carter and Luke Solomon’s seminal Classic label before creating an entirely new scene with Switch that become the starting point for labels such as Ed Banger and Dirty Bird to flourish.
Jesse then moved to Berlin and got deep holding a residency at Panorama bar alongside Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos and Cassy. With his labels Front Room, Made to Play and now Play it Down, Jesse took house into multiple directions, helping to create careers for the likes of Sinden, Riva Starr, Oliver $, Zombie Disco Squad, Trevor Loveys, Round Table Knights and many more.
‘Made For The Night’ was conceived as a compilation series that would provide a way for the listener to fully understand an artist. Rather than merely another remix compilation, ‘Best Of’ or overpriced single CD DJ mix, its intention is to provide an insight into both sides of an artist; both behind the decks and in the studio.
The Made For The Night series will not just look at legends or headliners but also the up and coming, and accompanying the compilation is a short documentary following each of the artists who feature, the first of which is directed by Jules Audry.
Made For The Night will also tour as a club night, with global residencies allowing Jesse to explore his passion for all facets of dance music. Mixing artists is Jesse's concept, wishing to invite friends such as Loco Dice, Radio Slave, label mates Oliver $, Riva Starr and Round Table Knights alongside house legends such as Derrick Carter, Sneak and Cajmere to forward thinking new acts such as Axel Boman, then flipping it with artists such as Flying Lotus, Four Tet and L-vis 1990.
The first Made For The Night compilation will be headed solely by Jesse, with the first disc comprising upfront and exclusive tracks that represent his unique take on the current house and techno scene, while the second disc is 100% made up of a selection of Jesse’s incredibly diverse remixes. Future releases will see Jesse joined by one of his favourite artists, giving the series both diversity and longevity.
