Popular Pole minimalist Magda has confirmed that she is leaving Richie Hawtin’s legendary Minus imprint alongside fellow mainstays Marc Houle and Troy Pierce to fully develop their own label Items & Things.

In a statement released this week the trio comments: “While we’re sad to be leaving behind a big part of our history, we feel we have reached a point in our careers where it’s time to creatively spread our wings and focus our energy and enthusiasm on our own label.”

Items & Things has plenty lined up, including a new Pierce EP this September and new long-players from Magda and Houle in 2012. The label promises at least one release a month.

Magda, Houle and Pierce are long-term associates of Hawtin; their ties to his label stretching back to its very earliest days in the late Nineties. Over the years, the three have performed regularly together at Minus events, collaborated on several releases and risen steadily in tandem with the label’s increasingly global reputation as minimalist techno pioneer.
