Young Essen DJ-producer talent Manuel Tur (Wenzel) will release a new album this May.
Es Cub succeeds 2009’s 0201 and 2012’s Swans Reflecting Elephants and like those projects will be released on the Jimpster co-owned Freerange Records. The new album is a progression of Tur’s deep but full-blooded house sound, recorded apparently during a year-long stay at his father’s place in Ibiza. Tur built a tiny studio dubbed ‘the cube’ (the album’s translated title) to realise his musical visions; he describes the record as a photo-album of his time on the White Isle. “It’s no musical manifesto or a concept album or anything too serious though” he clarifies. “I’ve done most of the tracks in a couple of hours.”
