Bristolian heroes Massive Attack will play next summer’s Sonar festival, presenting a brand new live show.

Sonar takes place June 12-14, 2014, and returns to Fira Montjuic in the city’s Placa d’Espanya square for its daytime schedule, whilst revisiting Fira Gran Via for its nocturnal programme.  Festival organisers have also confirmed headline performances by Richie Hawtin (playing as Plastikman for Sonar’s By Day, and as Hawtin for Sonar By Night) and Four Tet.

Elsewhere, James Holden, Matmos, Oneohtrix Point Never and Jon Hopkins are set to play; not to mention Caribou, Bonobo, Moderat, Evian Christ, Gesaffelstein and Jessy Lanza.  Further names will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

Sonar turns 21 in 2014; once again, its central aim will be to push, stretch and smash the boundaries of contemporary electronic music-making, all whilst balancing accessible line-ups with emerging talent. Initial ticket and programme details at www.sonar.es
