Chus L. Esteban aka DJ Chus started his professional career at the end of the 80’s in his home town, amidst the full-blown euphoria of the acid-house movement at 'Alien', one of the first clubs of the famous Kapital Group. In August of '92 he was invited to play at the mythical Portuguese club Kadoc, where he was fortunate enough to share the booth with the best international DJs of the time, witnessing from a privileged position the dance music evolution that took place during the 90's. It was then that his style, influenced by the Portuguese and American underground sounds, definitely converged into house.

Since then he has himself become one of the most internationally respected purveyors of house, championing the Iberican sound the world over. Having graced one disc of the forthcoming Defected In The House Miami '11 compilation with his legendary prowess, here he talks us through some of his favourite moments on the mix.

David Herrero - Invocation (Original Mix)

The track that I chose to open the set, as it has all the organic elements that I love in house music; live drums, tribal essence, ethnic vibes and an energetic and powerful rhythm. 100% Iberican sound!

Ismael Rivas - Piletek (Original Mix) -Kittbal

This track is the perfect example of how to produce quality tribal music, and move away from more commercial patterns. Big-up to Ismael Rivas, another great Spanish producer from my own city, Madrid.

DJ Chus, David Penn feat. Cevin Fisher - Libres Para Siempre (Iberican Mix)

My new studio collaboration alongside David Penn. We have been working on this track for the last two years and finally it will now will be released on my label. We love to merge our styles and this song is the perfect example. A fantastic message from my dear friend Cevin 'The Voice' Fisher combined with solid Iberican beats and a beautiful musical melody. An essential tune in my sets!

Hector Couto - Feelings (Danny Serrano Mix)

This is one of my favourite tracks from the early part of this year. My buddy Danny Serrano has done an amazing job combining his fabulous grooves with the fantastic metal sections, 100% organic house music!

Cevin Fisher feat. Loleatta Holloway - You Got Me Burning Up (Supernova Remix)

Probably one of the best remixes from my Italian boys Supernova; I love the way how they have transformed every single element from the original track. The result is something brilliant, they never let me down.

Mancini - Supa Lovin’ (Original Mix)

Mancini is the alter-ego of two very well known producers, Whelan & Di Scala. They bring the disco field to Stereo Productions and this track will be included on our Miami 2011 Sampler.

Danism - Love The Way (DJ Chus Re-Rub)

I wanted to give my touch to this amazing remake of the classic that Danism did, so I've added some new elements on the bottom of the groove, a new bassdrum, baseline and other small details. Nothing crazy but more than useful for my DJ sets.

NDKj, Ivan Pica - Groovy Obsession (Original Mix)

100% pure freaking grooves!!! This is the perfect track to turn on the dancefloor and set them on fire!

David Herrero, Mark Ferrer - Something About (Original Mix) + Chus & Ceballos - Echoes from Doruma

Something that I love the most is when a track combines an underground sound with Latin elements, and here Mr Herrero has touched that nerve! This beautiful flute melody will makes you dance for sure!

Blaze - We Are One (Koki Dub)

I really love when Kiko Navarro produce under Koki's name, which is his more underground side. This is one of my favourite tracks from him.

Mikel Curcio - This Feeling (Original Mix) + John Julius Knight & Roland Clark - This Is House (accapella)

An awesome remake of the classic 'I Want Your Love' by Chic. I've been playing it for almost a year now and I never tire of hearing it. This is House music for me; the logical evolution from the disco sound.

DJ Chus, Rob Mirage - Back 2 NY (Original Mix)

There couldn’t be a better way to finish my set. This track means a lot to me as it was my first studio collaboration along Rob Mirage and it is my personal tribute for the love that I feel for my second home, New York.
