With the ever increasing hype and controversy surrounding DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ’s Poll, rival print house Mixmag thought it best they got in on the action and have approached the voting process from a different angle. Instead of allowing you to vote for anyone it seems who’s ever nudged, bumped or fumbled there way behind a pair of CDJ’s, Mixmag have short listed 35 International DJs spanning 40+ years of turntablism in all its variety of forms.

The Mag have whittled down the endless list to those that they think really matter, those that truly are the masters of their craft. From the originators of ‘the mix’ - New York’s late 70’s jocks Francis Grasso and Larry Levan, Drum n Bass headlines Fabio & Grooverider, Hip Hop pioneers Kool Herc and Grandmaster Flash, Chicago house legend and lord of the bump Derrick Carter through to 90’s ‘Superstar DJs’ Fatboy Slim, Erick Morillo, Carl Cox and Paul Oakenfold and the current nu-breed of DJs exciting dancefloors the World over like Optimo, Erol Alkan and Ricardo Villalobos.

So at last a DJ voting system which is justifiable credible not just database driven -  simply vote from the list via a trip to Mixmag’s  facebook page and with Sir Jimmy Saville already a hot favourite as the original DJ you best get voting!!
