Cliché though it may seem, the big tunes are always the ones that destroy the dancefloor with the most ferocity.  DJs know that if you want to keep that maximum level frenzy out on the dance floor then you need a wallet full of bangers - and Most Rated 2010 has the lot.

Not a DJ? Well, the news is just as good. This is an essential 3CD package full of the best house moments of the year, all ripe and ready for your pod. You can bet your £20 entrance fee on the fact that you have bounced around on the dance floor to these bad boys over the past 12 months. 2010 was undoubtedly the year of proper house and here’s the album that has brought it together for you. These are unquestionably the Most Rated tracks of the year.

Still need convincing? Well, we spoke to some of the DJs that have been championing these tracks over the last year. Here's what they had to say about their top picks:

Chocolate Puma ‘Tonco Tone’

Chocolate Puma have a knack of making something out of nothing and this is no exception. It’s difficult to even classify this track – it’s just so obviously them.
ATFC

This started out as just a tool for our DJ-sets. We made a little 'in the studio' clip of it which got noticed by Defected A&R Andy Daniell who thought it was a good idea to release it. Otherwise it probably would have ended up somewhere in the back of our CD wallet, ha!

ATFC featuring Rae ‘It's Over’ (ATFC's Lektrotek Vocal)

We heard this first when Rae did this song live at the Lakedance festival in Holland. We were instantly struck by Rae's performance, ATFC's solid production and the meaningful lyrics.
Chocolate Puma

This is a stroke of genius that will never be matched in the history of music, let alone House music. In fact it’ll most certainly be placed in the top 10 most important happenings in the history of mankind …just above the Pyramids.

Osunlade presents Nadirah Shakoor 'Pride' (Johnny D Remix)

Proper underground flava; brilliant crossover record for when you want to take the dance floor to the next level.
Miss Divine

I love what Johnny did to this song, the dubby club feel gave it another element for a new audience.
Osunlade

DJ Gregory & Gregor Salto ‘Canoa’ (DJ Chus & David Herrero Balearica Mix)

This mix has got a great swing to it and a nice little twist in the mid section. Tough but funky – just how we like it.
ATFC

Jammed the original with Gregor, but I was so pleased to hear this remix . A stone-cold killer of a track.
DJ Gregory

I loved the original but Chus has done what he does so well here and made this totally accessible. A trip of tribal rolling beats with a cheeky and unexpected piano drop into the carnival-esque chant that’s become so synonymous with the works of DJ Gregory.
Rae

Louie Vega & Jay 'Sinister' Sealee starring Julie McKnight 'Diamond Life'

My reaction when I first heard this song was that it was another hit and beautiful melody from the master Louie Vega…the marriage of song and melody is what hit me here; a timeless classic in my opinion.
Osunlade

This track never gets old, still sounds as timeless as the day it was made. Absolute Gem that every house DJ should have their box.

Treasure Fingers ‘Lift Me’

I first heard this over a year ago on the Duck Sauce Mixmag covermount CD & fell in love with it. I assumed it would be coming on A-Trak’s Fools Gold label, but I hit up Treasure Fingers and that track was available so we signed it to Defected. It always KILLS it out live and has been incredibly well received. Certainly one of my top tunes of the year.
Andy Daniell

Dennis Ferrer - Hey Hey (John Jacobsen & Anzwer Mix)

This has been the mix for me throughout the Hey Hey frenzy and it still has a huge impact every time I play it. The vocal drops and creates a perfect contrast with the pounding progressing beats, beautifully arranged to ascend into its peak and descend just enough to keep us hooked right in there.
Rae

This track has not left my wallet, I play it in every set and it gets a massive reaction every time.
Miss Divine

Sandy Rivera & Rae ‘Hide U’ (Norman Doray Mix)

A welcome big room take on our revisit of this classic tune. Doray’s fresh anthemic sounds fused with this melodic journey results in an infectious monster of a mix. Peaktime perfection.
Rae

Tensnake ‘Coma Cat’ (Round Table Knights Remix)

One of the tunes of 2010 by a mile. Coma Cat was arguably one of the tunes of the summer, but this mix took it to the dancefloor for me. RTK are super talented up & coming producers. We thought of them for the remix after their dope Calypso record on Jesse Rose’s awesome Made 2 Play label. Essential new tunes. Play’s from every DJ worth their salt. MOST RATED!
Andy Daniell

Steve Angello ‘KNAS’

Like 239,409 other producers, we made our own bootleg of this track. Such a simple and effective bassline which destroyed bassbins in about every club we played it. Huge.
Chocolate Puma

It’s all gone KNAS!!
Steve Angello

Copyright featuring Imaani ‘Nobody’ (Main Mix)

The boys' finest moment to date. Dropped this one at Pacha in ibiza back in July when they had just finished an early draft of it and knew straight away that we had a special record on our hands.
Aaron Ross

Loved this track from the first 8 bars, it has that solid Copyright stamp all over it. I love starting my sets with this record as it sets the tone.

Dennis Ferrer ‘The Red Room’ (Obj Vocal Mix)

This record has been causing mayhem on the underground scene for some time. It’s a record that I pay in every set and the reaction from the dancefloor is getting bigger everytime. Great record.

Guy Robin feat Sherona Knights 'Still Standing'

Massive fan of Guy Robins, this track smashes the dance floor each and every time.
Miss Divine

A standout song in a time where they’re a rarity. I love the way the vocal builds from smooth and laid back to powerful and energetic. Great production and a bassline that really gets in your head.
Aaron Ross

Nathan G ‘88 Keys To Love’

Simple chords and a wicked groove on this one, reminds me of old school Kerri Chandler with a new school Salted music west coast bump to it. Such a playable record and great energy on the floor whenever I drop this one.

Reboot ‘Enjoy Music’ (Riva Starr Remix)

Going right back to the start of 2010 on this one. I first heard Reboot’s – Enjoy Music via a YouTube video I was sent over with Villalobos playing it. The hunt was then on to find out what the hell the record was. Big up to Tapesh for helping me with that. Next step was getting Riva Starr on the remix, and boy did he KILL this. Both artists went off to blow up over 2010, that’s why this is Most Rated.
