Detroit’s celebrated deep houser Moodymann (AKA Kenny Dixon Jr) will release a new album later this month.
Eponymously-titled, Moodymann’s latest opus – his 11th – features brand 11 brand new cuts and one, Hold It Down, from last year. The record, originally-titled ABCD: The Album (or so it seems), also includes input from fellow Motor City native Andres (who earned plaudits last year for underground cut New For U), Amp Fiddler (providing keys on Hold It Down) and singer Bilal. It follows a mini, vinyl-only album, ABCD, released a few months back.
The album Moodymann is due out December 20 on Moodymann’s Mahogani label.
