According to German media, organisers are on the verge of confirming a brand new dance-orientated parade for Berlin this summer.
If the event, dubbed B-Parade, is approved, it would represent Berlin’s first big outdoor club parade in six years. It would also follow Germany’s Love Parade tragedy in Duisburg just two years ago – a party where overcrowding led to 21 deaths, hundreds of injuries and a declaration from organisers that the Love Parade would never run again.
The B-Parade, loosely scheduled for July 21, is, of course, an entirely separate entity. As with previous dance parades in Berlin, the new event is set to include DJs and performers on moving floats, thousands of visitors and a route ending up at the city’s famous Victory Column. The musical scope, however, is reported to be much broader.
News of further developments is keenly awaited.
