Club kit specialist Pioneer has announced two new DJ controllers aiming to effortlessly straddle the professional and bedroom markets - both products combine decks, mixer and full ‘computer audio’ interface (or, ‘I/O’ compatibility, as it commonly called ‘in the business’.

The DDJ-T1, set to arrive in February at around the £899 mark, is dedicated for use with Native Instrument’s popular TRAKTOR software – a ‘plug and play’ device with simple laptop connection, enabling users to programme their sets with ease, and commandeer all the usual FX and looping options (the console and software’s controls correspond,) as well as ‘master syncing’ over four mix channels.

The DDJ-S1 meanwhile is aimed squarely at Serato ITCH – a two-channel unit with controls again matched to those on the software, a full sweep of EQ, FX, cuing and record collection browsing options, and microphone inputs. The unit should arrive in April, with a price tag of £1099.

“We wanted to create a solution for DJs who love the look and feel of our professional rig but who need a ‘plug-and-play’ solution for their electronic beats,” said David Arevalo, Senior Marketing Manager, Professional Sound and Visual Division for Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.
