This year Bestival introduces two brand new stages, The Port and Temple Island, both of which are packed with an electric selection of electronic artists.

The Temple Island will be a dreamlike fantasy of twisted structures, delicious foods and hidden areas to be discovered which have all been conjured up by the creative minds of Rob and Josie da Bank. The arena will feature electronic acts such as Rinse FM’s T.Williams, Daft Punk collaborator DJ Falcon, drum n bass star Wilkinson and Bristol based collective Eton Messy.

Fellow newcomer The Port is a landlocked harbour with a 24m long ocean going liner as its centre piece – complimenting this year’s theme of HMS Bestival – all complete with a Funktion One sound system. Its headline acts include Richie Hawtin, Annie Mac and Carl Cox.

“I’m probably more excited about this new stage for Bestival than anything else in the last decade of creating fun and mental spaces for people to party on” explains festival head Rob da Bank. “We’ve got a tree you can rave inside, a forest with films and a giant metal spider that breathes fire but we’ve never had a life sized ship transmitting the best techno and house DJs across the waves while lasers strafe the crowd and a lighthouse booms its foghorn!”

After last year’s stellar success it’s hard to imagine how the Isle of Wight based festival can surpass itself and after winning the title of Best Major Festival at the UK Festival Awards 2012 there’s no denying that Radio 1’s Rob Da Bank’s creation is deserving of its name.

The DJ line-up for this year’s festival is stronger than ever, and includes the likes of Seth Troxler, Julio Bashmore, Maya Jane Coles, Kerri Chandler, Erol Alkan, Duke Dumont, Eats Everything, Bicep, Karma Kid, Dark Sky, Shadow Child, Artwork, Cyril Hahn and many more.

Scheduled from Thursday 5th to Sunday 8th September, the event is a multi-award winning boutique music festival situated at Robin Hill Country Park near Newport on the Isle of Wight.
