Legendary Detroit house-r Terrence Parker is set to drop a new artist album, his third, in the New Year.

Life On The Back 9 is Parker’s first studio album in a whopping 16 years.  His last long-player, Detroit After Dark, was released in 1997 on !K7; the same label to release his debut Tragedies Of A Plastic Soul Junkie in 1996.  Parker has also released limited edition collections of tracks for Chisel (Strong Songs Album) and Intangible Records/Soundworks (My Studio Sessions Volume #1), as well as singles and EPs for the likes of 430 West, Parker and Systematic; all whilst remixing everyone from Phil Asher to The Pet Shop Boys

The new album is expected to blend house, disco and deep-dance, as is Parker’s penchant.  The album title reportedly comes from a golfing analogy Parker’s father once told him when things weren’t going so well in his life:  “If you think of your life as a game of golf, perhaps the front 9 did not go as you had liked.  But don’t give up because you still have the back 9....”

Parker releases Life On The Back 9 via Planet E on January 27, 2014.
