On the 31st December 2011, Defected Records will be hitting London for our first ever New Year’s Eve party in the capital. Boasting a line-up that presents house music in all its myriad forms all under one roof, if house is your staple diet, then this is the only place to see in 2012.
Each week from now until the event, we’ll be profiling each of the DJs appearing on the night, starting - as is only fair – with those spinning in the Defected Main Room, including a very special New Year’s Eve warm-up mix from Lynda Phoenix.
Junior Jack & Kid Crème
Junior Jack & Kid Crème are one of the slickest DJ outfits on the planet. With regular sets at the world’s best clubs, their energetic, driving take on house music makes them perfectly suited to big occasions and they promise an unmissable spectacle come New Year’s Eve.
“Junior Jack and Kid Crème are superb party DJs” says Simon Dunmore of the pair. “When they find their groove there aren’t many people who can come close to them in terms of creating an electric atmosphere in the club, and I’m really pleased we managed to secure their services this New Year’s Eve”
Inner City Live
One of the greatest dance acts of all time, Inner City had five UK top 20 singles (four of which also topped the US dance charts) from their 1989 debut Paradise. Tracks such as Good Life, Big Fun and Pennies from Heaven are among the most celebrated dance records ever made, and have made an indelible mark on the landscape of modern club culture.
We are extremely privileged to be hosting this legendary group for their only London performance of the year and can safely predict that witnessing their performance this New Year’s Eve will be a truly special moment.
ATFC
A man with a bad habit of taking you out for the night of your life, forcing you to dance the night away, getting you all sweaty and then jetting off to do exactly the same with a complete stranger the next day, ATFC is one of those rare things within the dance music community; an established, successful name the mention of which doesn’t have the haters screaming ‘Sell out!’ from the rooftops or start to maliciously plot his downfall.
One of the very best main room house DJs on the planet, ATFC’s house heritage has established him as a force to be reckoned with on both the national and international circuits, and it is with pleasure that we welcome him to Defected’s loving embrace this New Year’s Eve.
Will the Funky Chile be planning anything special for the big night? "I never have a set planned and my USB is permanently loaded for all eventualities but depending on my set time I think a healthy splattering of classics is in order” he reveals. “Tracks that were big in 2011 for me will be my first port of call, then some all time faves and maybe a few slow jams for those looking for new love in 2012."

“Europe - The Final Countdown……..let's hope I'm not on at midnight!!!!!”

“I can't tell you that. It’s always surprise, but it has to be a classic… and almost certainly a proper song …”

Defected In The House NYE London 'Pre-party mix' Lynda Phoenix by Defected Records
“I’ll be bringing a house party vibe to my set for sure” says Lynda of the night. “I think it’s the one time of the year you can really let loose by dropping classics from over the last decade and revisiting big records from 2011. There will be no fillers in my set for NYE, I’m just ready to get the place jumping!”
Ideal midnight tune…
"Funnily enough it would of been a record like Inner City ‘Big Fun, but seeing as we have the legends themsleves in attendance I’m more than happy to pack this back into my wallet..!"
