Current clubland darling Nicolas Jaar – he of Wolf + Lamb re-edit fame – is about to release an eclectic new electronic compilation, Ines, on his own label, Clown and Sunset.
Ines features 10 new productions from Jaar and fellow freshman producers Nikita Quasim and Soul Keita. Like Jaar, Ethiopian Keita is 17, and regularly mixes traditional African instruments with chunky electronica; 20-year-old Russian Quasim, meanwhile, experiments with ‘micro’ electronic sounds.
Ines is digital only, dropping at some point in November. Two mini Clown compilations, featuring the same three artists, are set to precede it in October.
