Legendary Warp act Nightmares On Wax is set to release a new album this autumn, five years after the last long-player Thought So...
Nightmares On Wax, an alias of Brit producer George Evelyn, is synonymous with the funky, trippy fusion of acid-house, ambient and hip-hop; a tradition that loosely continues with new record Feelin’ Good. Catalysed by Evelyn’s care-free Ibizan life of the past seven years (living on a farm, and hosting parties in San Antonio), Feelin’ Good promises leftfield variety but a greater focus on live dub and jazz arrangements. Guests include singers Katy Gray, Moses and former M People conga don Shovell.
Nightmare On Wax’s discography is a long and impressive one, launching in 1989 with single Dextrous (his Warp debut) before progressing to impactful albums - all through Warp - A Word Of Science (1991), Smokers Delight (1995), Carboot Soul (1999, featuring Ibiza chillout classic Les Nuits), Mind Elevation (2002), In A Space Outta Sound (2006) and, of course, Thought So... (2008).
Feelin’ Good is released on September 17, again via Warp.
