Chic legend and recent Daft Punk collaborator Nile Rodgers has put his IMS Anthem 2013 up for auction to raise money for a cancer charity he runs.
The Anthem, an annual International Music Summit tradition produced by one guest artist and remixed by another (in this case Eats Everything), proved so popular this at this May’s gathering that IMS partner Ben Turner agreed with Rodgers and Eats Everything’s Dan Pearce to take bids from the floor, by interested licensing parties, for the We Are Family Foundation. When bids reached £5,000, it was decided to auction off the license via sealed offers to maximise fundraising revenues.
As such industry labels (or brokers) who wish to sign the IMS Anthem 2013 need to send sealed bids to an independent lawyer (Sherrads) before July 14, 9am. All bids begin at £5,000; both Rodgers and Pearce’s management teams will be consulted on the final decision process.
An update on the winning bid (and label) will follow in due course. Check www.internationalmusicsummit.com for further details.
