Wonky electronic don Matthew Herbert is to release a new long player.
One One is to be the first in a trilogy of albums, and will be released on his own Accidental Records label in March.
No ordinary album, it chronicles a single day in the life of the egg-head producer, and uses all manner of sampled everyday sounds stitched together. The second album in the trilogy will drop in May, and will be called One Club, devised using samples recorded in the Robert Johnson club in Frankfurt between 8pm and 10pm on September 30 last year.
Among the weird and wonderful sounds Herbert has sampled are those of people dancing, toilet conversations and mobile phone calls. The final instalment, One Pig, uses samples taken from the life of a pig reared at a Kent farm from birth to its slaughter and consumption.
Now that's what we call going the extra mile.
