Last night at the DJ Awards hosted at Pacha, Ibiza, Pirupa’s ‘Party Non-Stop’ was awarded the accolade of Track of the Season, with Defected newcomer Solomun picking up the award for Best Producer.
The award officially confirms what most people vising the island have known for some time; that ‘Party Non Stop’ has been the undisputed party anthem of 2012, taking the White Isle by the scruff of the neck and uniting DJs from Loco Dice to DJ Sneak, Maya Jane Coles to Carl Cox.
On the DJ front, one of the undisputed successes of Defected’s season has been the introduction of Solomun to Pacha. The Diynamic label boss has exceeded all expectations with his lively and eclectic sets, at one point prompting Pacha Magazine editor Ben Turner to enthuse that “the island now has a new name who connects to the original spirit of Ibiza.”

Special mention should also go out to Pacha resident Andy Baxter who won the award for best Ibiza DJ. Andy has been in tremendous from this year and the honour is well deserved.
