Eclectic house producer Paul Woolford will release an album as alias Special Request next month on Fabric’s alt-label Houndsooth.
Released in two sections, Soul Music promises a gathering of original tracks (12 in total) recorded with old-school hardware and ‘industrial strength’ EQs, as well as a special mix of further original tracks, Special Request remixes (of Tessela and Lana Del Ray) and remixes of Special Request (by the likes of Anthony Naples, Lee Gamble and Kassem Mosse & Mix Up).
Pirate radio is, supposedly, a huge influence on Soul Music, Woolford first broadcasting the album’s material via FM transmitter before sampling it and working it into final release edits. Soul Music is released on vinyl on October 7, before CD and download formats follow on October 21.
