Formidable clubland vocalist Peven Everett will drop a new album this summer.

Remarkably King Of Hearts will be Chicago-based Everett’s 11th album project since 2001 debut Studio Confessions. Following his last long-player, Party Of The Year, in 2009, King Of Hearts promises another emotive swirl of house, funk, power soul, rap and R&B. It will be accompanied by an extensive European tour, the dates of which will be announced in the coming weeks.

Everett first came to the dance scene’s attention via his vocals on Roy Davis Jr’s classic trumpet-licked garage jam Gabrielle. Following that track’s crossover success during the late Nineties Everett quickly progressed to other influential collaborations (including Roy Davis Jr follow-up Watch Them Come!) and solo productions, as well as the aforementioned string of albums.

King Of Hearts is released July 1 via Brit independent label Makin’ Moves. You can hear a preview at Makin’ Moves’ Soundcloud page.
