San Franciscans Sammy D, Ryan Williams and Mikey Tello will release their debut album as PillowTalk this spring.
PillowTalk has been making quirky noise on the dancefloor for the past three years or so. Renowned for its fusion of disco, boogie, R&B and Eighties synth-pop with underground house and techno, the trio has, to date, released innovative tracks via Wolf + Lamb, Visionquest, Life And Death and Kompakt.
Debut album Je Ne Sais Quoi will also arrive on Wolf + Lamb (D, Williams and Tello are closely tied to both label and crew) and promises a rich mix of party licks, hazy summer jams and deep, introspective dives. Collaborators include Thugfucker, Jaw, Navid Izadi, Aquarius Heaven and Dina Mours (the latter four all feature on track 4 Walls). The album’s acoustic finale, The Outcast, is actually a DJ Tennis production ‘featuring’ PillowTalk.
PillowTalk’s debut album Je Ne Sais Quoi is released via Wolf + Lamb (US) on March 17.
