Richie Hawtin’s infamous techno alias Plastikman will take to the road this summer with an enhanced Live 1.5 show boasting new visuals, AV tech and, of course, music.
The show premieres at Amnesia in Ibiza on August 5 before hitting the Electric Zoo festival in New York on September 3, and then visiting Hungary (October 15); Amsterdam (October 21); Switzerland (October 22); Portugal (October 28); Madrid (October 29); Berlin (November 5); the UK (Manchester Academy on December 1, Brixton Academy, London on December 2; Glasgow’s Barrowland on December 3); and, finally, Italy (December 7).
It will be accompanied by an upgraded SYNK app, giving fans a greater level of access to interactive tour content including live ‘behind the scenes’ video footage. Tour support acts are Marco Carola, Magda, Gaiser and Ambivalent.
“The fall tour will be full of surprises, and the performance will continue to be spontaneous and unique for every show” Hawtin comments, in his press materials, “the way I believe live music should be performed in 2011.”
He also confirms work will begin on a new tour experience, once the current one finishes: “Plastikman will be returning to the shadows to begin work on a brand new 2.0 concept.”
