Mr ‘Perfecto’ Paul Oakenfold has announced a few new details about his next studio album, currently under the working title Pop Killer.
It will feature collaborations with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, One Republic’s Ryan Tedder, underground Israeli trance band Infected Mushrooms and Cee-Lo from Gnarls Barkley, as well as new “voices” Spitfire and Bad Apples.
Oakenfold, 45, is currently warming up for Madonna on her global Sticky & Sweet Tour, and has co-produced latest Madge single Celebration, which precedes a new greatest hits album of the same name. Ironically, he suggested the working title of his own forthcoming album in reaction to what he feels is the steady decline of pop music: “There’s nothing really interesting coming along.”
The legendary dance DJ and producer suggests that Pop Killer should launch in 2010: “Hopefully once it’s finished, people will dig it.”
