Sassy live soul-housers Reel People are back in business with a new long-player, Golden Lady, due at the end of February.

Golden Lady premieres exclusive new Reel People songs (including Latin-tinged soul-house single Sure) whilst collecting earlier outings from the outfit (Star, for example) and a wide sweep of material by artists signed to its Reel People Music imprint – a sister stable to the highly regarded Papa Records.

Incognito frontman Tony Momrelle leads the title track, a Reel People cover of Stevie Wonder’s classic number; Momrelle also graces songs Tell Me Why and 80s Love, a peppy, boogie-fuelled jam. Elsewhere, Reel People update Simon Grey’s broken-disco epic The Galactica Suite, and there are stylish spots for Seattle chanteuse Choklate (last year’s excellent The Tea,) Renn and new Phil Asher project, restless soul Fun Band.

Reel People released its debut album Second Guess in 2003 (subsequently re-released by Defected in 2005) and follow-up Seven Ways To Wonder in 2007.

New single Sure is released by Reel People Music on February 3 (and available via Traxsource on January 12) with Golden Lady following February 28.
