Melodic house ‘n’ tech specialist Ripperton will release a new album, his second, this summer.

A Little Part Of Shade follows Ripperton’s (full name Raphael Ripperton) 2010 debut Niwa.  Like that record, the new album is due for release on Green, Joris Voorn and Edwin Van Oosterwal’s Rejected sub-label, and features guest spots for Hemlock Smith, Van Hai and Germain Umdenstock.

Swiss-born, Ripperton grew up on the grooves of Tony Humphries, Djaimin and Kid Bachelor before dropping his own acclaimed productions as Soul Merge, Reasons and Lazy Fat People (the latter signed to Carl Craig’s Planet E imprint).  As Ripperton, the DJ-producer has released material on Dessous, Rekids and Liebe Detail, remixed Laurent Garnier, Steve Lawler and even Radiohead.  In 2006, he founded underground label Perspectiv Records; a follow-up to first imprint Lovearth which has further fuelled his global electronic status.

“[The new album] is about the part of shade that everyone has” Ripperton says.  “It’s quite the opposite of Niwa.  It’s an inside garden.  It can be bright or dark in the middle.  It can destroy or help you.”

A Little Part Of Shade will be released by Green on June 24.
