New Yorker Ron Morelli, owner of highly-rated, highly raved about label L.I.E.S (Long Island Electrical Systems), has confirmed the release of his debut album in November.
Spit promises a gritty, psychedelic mix of raw house, techno and industrial, in line with his previous work and that of L.I.E.S. “The music on this record is about immediacy, pressure, monotony and stress. A great deal of the feelings conveyed within come from the fear and repulsion of basic human interaction” Morelli says. “Not to make some deep intellectual fuck show of this, as it is not. It’s just stress music...jammed out quick and recorded.”
The album’s title is inspired by somewhere Morelli stayed last year, where prostitutes plied their trade in the street – "smoking, phoning and spitting....".
The new record is the first of three projects Morelli has lined up for Dominick ‘Vatican Shadow’ Fernow’s Hospital Productions label. Spit is released by Hospital Productions on November 11.
