Institutional Manchester club Sankeys will close next month, owner David Vincent confirming via official Facebook statement that he wishes to spend more time developing Balearic sister venue Sankeys Ibiza.

Sankeys re-launched in place of Manchester’s beloved Sankeys Soap seven years ago, bringing with it a wide range of major international DJ talent.  The club will now close with a huge ‘Final Chapter’ swansong on May 6, featuring Joris Voorn, tINI, Enzo Siragusa, Darius Syrossian, residents Jozef K, Us & Them and Sankeys Ibiza regular Bones.

“I have decided to close...in Manchester indefinitely this summer as I focus my attention on our third year in Ibiza” Vincent comments.  “I want our Ibiza project to be the best club in the world, just like what we have achieved previously in Manchester....  But I need my production and staff from Manchester to come to Ibiza with me to achieve this goal and therefore both clubs cannot be open at the same time.”

Vincent adds:  “Who knows when we will be back in Manchester, or if we ever will be back, or what comes next in this great city I love.  I want this current chapter of the club’s history to end with a spectacular party....  It’s a 12-hour marathon...in the spirit of our epic 12-hour Tengalia sessions.”
