Masters of ambient The Orb have announced a second collaborative album with dub legend Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry following last September’s well-received The ORBSERVER In The Star House.

The follow-up record, More Tales From The Orbservatory, features further deep dub ‘n’ rhythm descents from Orb duo Alex Paterson and Thomas Fehlmann’s original recording sessions with Perry last year at the Starhouse Studios in Berlin.  “Alex and I had never made so much new music on the spot before,” Felhmann confirms.  “It was soon pretty clear that we wouldn’t get far with the four backing tracks we pre-produced for the session.  Lee was so overwhelmingly creative that it took an afternoon for those to be finished.  From then on we were forced to come up with new beats on the spot, to keep Lee in the flow.”

The Orb will precede their new album, released by Cooking Vinyl on June 3, with a special 25th anniversary ‘warm-up’ show at the Electric Brixton, the site of their first ever gig.  Taking place April 5, the show will feature full performances of the duo’s first two (highly acclaimed) long-players, The Orb’s Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld and UFOrb.  Tickets are available at www.seetickets.com/Tour
