Quirky house producer Maurice Fulton, the ex-pat American who has lived everywhere from Australia to New York, and is now based in Sheffield, is preparing to release a new studio album under his Boof alias.

Entitled Shhh, Dandelions At Play, Fulton’s new work promises an interesting array of eclectic funk-driven house grooves; there are nine in total. Fulton will release Shhh… via his Bubbletease Communications stable.

Fulton’s pedigree is undisputed; a former hip-hop DJ, Fulton went on to work alongside the legendary Basement Boys on major cuts including Crystal Waters’ Gypsy Woman and Those Guys’ Love, Love, Love. Since those days, he has released numerous records under the monikers Ladyvipb, Eddie & The Eggs, Syclops, Stress and Boof, worked with eccentric popster Jimi Tenor, and formed punky production unit MU with Japanese wife Mutsumi Kanamori.

Shhh… is out June 24.
