Soma’s forthcoming 20 Years anniversary compilation will feature a previously unreleased track from Daft Punk – 1994 outing Drive.

The track, originally recorded on a tape entitled ‘Daft Drive’, was discovered when the label started researching its landmark triple-CD retrospective – it was hidden among boxes of old DATs, pictures and miscellany.

Originally recorded by Daft Punkers Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo to be released as ‘Soma25’ (recorded, amazingly, over excerpts of their parents’ own music collection), Drive was subsequently replaced by Da Funk - Soma asking the boys to fully finish their first choice record. It has finally been polished up for release on 20 Years alongside classic Soma material from H-Foundation, Silicone Soul and label founders Slam.

Soma Records - 20 Years is released September 9.
