London-based label Strut Records will release an album dedicated to the seminal sounds of cult US house imprint Cajual and its influential owner Curtis Jones, under his Cajmere guise.

Only 4 U: The Sound Of Cajmere and Cajual Records 1992-2012 is set to drop this autumn, tracking Cajual’s rise from its humble beginning in early Nineties Chicago via one disc of Cajmere productions and a second of cuts from other key Cajual artists including Glenn Underground, Gemini and Braxton Holmes.

Curtis Jones founded Cajual as a platform on which to release Cajmere’s first lo-fi house experiments. Subsequently his sound matured and expanded, taking in regular collaborations with Dajae. Classic tracks such as Percolator, Brighter Days (with Dajae and remixed here by Louie Vega) and Dream States (with Derrick Carter) are included, so too Johnny Fiasco’s Taurus, Braxton Holmes’ People Everyday and even Green Velvet’s (Jones’ other prominent alter-ego) Lalalalala (Inside My Mind).

Only 4 U: The Sound Of Cajmere and Cajual Records 1992-2012 is released by Strut Records on October 30. Formats include double-CD, double-vinyl and download (the latter with alternative mixes).
