Tenth Circle’s first release of the New Year showcases tracks from three of the brightest talents for 2012.
Launching the label’s new Various Artists series, Tenth Circle Canto I presents three organic, original and engrossing takes on deep house from DC Salas, Ion Ludwig and EZLV.

Bursting onto the scene with 2010’s sublime ‘Peru’, DC Salas has been slowly making a name for himself with a series of highly emotive releases and successful DJ residencies in his native Belgium. His track ‘Us vs. Them’ is an slow-burning and epic, replete with muted organ stabs and twisted, fleeting vocal refrains.
Ion Ludwig’s last release on Tenth Circle was the uber-deep ‘Believe Born Again EP, and while the Dutch producer has upped the tempo for his inclusion ‘Dwell to the Gate’, the track is littered with his inimitable flourishes. Dubby, atmospheric and haunting, it shows why Ludwig is currently one of the most respected house and techno producers around.
Finally, EZLV follow up their superb reworking of Reuben Tobias’s ‘Portraits’ with ‘Read This’, a pad and percussion heavy track that shimmers like lunar light on a vast ocean; a devastatingly emotional piece that’s is as restrained as it is effective.
