Brit house legend Terry Farley has compiled the classic dance soundtrack to upcoming cinema release Weekender.
The movie, starring Jack O’Connell, Emily Barclay and Zawe Ashton, follows the rise of two young Mancunian friends seeking to make a name for themselves during the heady, early 1990s days of house music revolution in England.
Covering three discs – one directly linked to the film, a second offering ‘more inspiration from the illicit warehouse era’, and the third, Farley’s bonus mix – the Weekender soundtrack offers anthems from Gat Décor, Future Sound Of London, Inner City, The Jungle Brothers and The Todd Terry Project.
Weekender – Music From The Motion Picture & Further Inspiration is released via Harmless Records on August 29; the film’s theatrical release follows September 2.
