The Opening Party Ibiza 2012 is the first compilation to bring you the records that are likely to be the vocal anthems, the big room tunes, the future house hits and underground classics of the summer.
For those who couldn’t reach this year’s scorcher of an Opening Party at Pacha, Ibiza to witness the first airing of this year’s club bangers, Defected has carefully captured what are likely to be on heavy rotation this summer. Here’s a closer look at some of the heavyweight tunes included…
Flashmob – Need In Me
With huge support from the likes of Maya Jane Coles and Pete Tong – who named it as one of his Essential New Tunes on Radio 1 - this track is one that will be heard around the island all summer long. One of those tunes of the very highest calibre throughout with ability to transform a dance floor in seconds.
Soul Clap feat. Roldy Cezaire- Let It Go (Miguel Cambell Club Mix)
Soul Clap are always pushing new boundaries with their productions, and this track, remixed by Miguel Cambell offers smooth bass driven groove accompanied by the soulfully enriched vocals of Roldy Cezaire, making it an essential one for the collection.
Pirupa – Party Non-Stop
An explosion of forward-thinking house music that leaves you with a mighty big smile of satisfaction after every breakdown. There’s no doubt this will be showcased across the clubs of Ibiza throughout the season, due to its already legendary originality and crowd pleasing tendencies.
Huxley – Box Clever
Having risen fast through the production ranks over the last year or so, Huxley has become one of 2012’s most thought after producers. His track Box Clever has cleverly captured the essence of a summer vibe and is guaranteed to make you book a flight straight to the magic White Isle.
Kevin Saunderson feat. Inner City- Future (MK AW Deep Dub)
A poolside anthem with a clear, feel-good vibe. Here MK (Kevin’s original protégée) does exactly what MK does best, finding a hook in the vocal, chopping and looping until you can take no more, then unleashing the full vocal over a hypnotic bass bump.
Maceo Plex- Sex Appeal
As things turn from day to night and from light to dark in Ibiza, Maceo Plex steps in to set the tone for those late night adventures into the underground we all embark on every once in a while. This man has rocketed into the house scene, with his signature ground shaking bass and soulfully injected funk, which can be felt right through vein this track.
Mowgli feat. Amber Jolene- Back In The Day
This track goes hand in hand with a fresh cocktail, sunglasses and some sun. Warm, sexy and deep just like everything you have come to expect from the island itself. Mowgli sure knows how to set the scene.
