Leftroom boss Matt Tolfrey will release a debut album this autumn.
Word Of Mouth is named after the unique production process with which it was recorded. Unable to play piano, Tolfrey sung his melodic ideas into a mic powered by software which converts song into midi notes and the building blocks of electronic production. “The album is mainly going to be written with my mouth, not my fingers... hence the name Word Of Mouth.”
Tolfrey’s album is also mainly collaborative, seven of its nine tracks featuring hook-ups with the likes of Marshall Jefferson, Kevin Knapp and James Teej. Listeners can expect deep, driving house to feature prominently.
Word Of Mouth is released on Leftroom October 1.
