Native Instruments, leading manufacturer of music production and DJ software, has launched an Apple iPad version of its popular Traktor DJ product.

Available via Apple’s App Store, the new tablet Traktor package aims itself at both wannabes and veterans.  Many of the original software’s features have been retained but Native Instruments has, of course, introduced new touchscreen functionality – DJs can scratch, cue and loop by touching a track’s waveforms directly.  The app uses an updated algorithm to better analyse downbeats and aid mixing; it can also suggest your next track by monitoring current tempo and harmonic structure.

Native Instruments have ensured that their tablet Traktor fully integrates with iTunes and works alongside Traktor Pro (via Dropbox).  Users are able to cue up via headphones and produce solid sound by pairing their iPads with Traktor’s Audio 6 and 10 interface platforms (via the Apple camera connection kit), whilst a new Notification Centre provides handy advice and guides for those wishing to push the app to its absolute limits.

Native Instruments’ Traktor DJ for iPad is out now via Apple’s App Store, priced at $19.99 and €17.99.
