Visionquest’s Seth Troxler and Brooklyn boys The Martinez Brothers (Chris and Steve) have teamed up to launch a brand new vinyl-only record label.
Tuskegee Music takes its cue from the 1990s, when Troxler and co. were growing up under the influence of legendary New York club Paradise Garage and the diverse sounds and club culture it helped catalyse. It is, supposedly, a “label of cultural heritage”, marking a nostalgic return to lost dancefloor ideas and feelings.
The three Tuskegee co-founders - who met in DC-10 a number of years ago and clicked because of their similar experiences and backgrounds – have collaborated on acidic, one-sided debut cut Space & Time due out next week. They plan follow-ups in due course, as well as an imminent outing for William Kouam Djoko.
