The Vinyl District have launched a record store locater app for iPhone and Android.
Billed as the only GPS-based record store locator app for vinyl and record store obsessives, it's currently only for US-based vinyl junkies, but will surely set a precedent for the format to be rolled out across Europe and beyond.
Aimed at DJs with long-layovers in unfamiliar cities, the app provides directions to the nearest indie shop, allowing you to while away your time between flights digging through the crates. You can also check in and share your finds on Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare.
The TVD app also allows you to discuss your finds within the app’s social network and follow TVD with real time updates.
