Multi-faceted electronic producer Luke Vibert has confirmed his first artist album in five years.
Ridmik, due this spring, pivots massively on the Roland TB-303 and takes inspiration from a number of quirky sonic discoveries made by Vibert last year on the London-based library label Bruton Music. As such, the record promises plenty of retro analogue flair but balances this with frequent shifts of style and speed.
Vibert’s CV is as long as it is prolific, featuring pioneering electronic works on labels ranging from Ninja Tune and Warp to Planet Mu and Lo Recordings – his aliases have included Wagon Christ, Plug and Kerrier District. New album Ridmik marks Vibert’s debut on Hypercolour.
Ridmik is released in March, date TBA.
