From underground dub to potential chart hit, the path of MK’s now seminal remix of Storm Queen’s ‘Look Right Through’ has not been that of your typical house record.
Originally signed from Morgan Geist’s Environ by Defected back in 2011, Storm Queen’s original version of ‘Look Right Through’ was re-released early in 2012 along with remixes from Jamie Jones, Dimitri From Paris, Aeroplane, Art Department and MK; the latter's ‘Don’t Talk to Me’ Dub just one of three remixes the US house legend delivered on the record.
While these remixes were universally well-received, it was MK’s previously unreleased Dub III – included as an exclusive track on the first edition of Deep, Down and Defected – that began to make waves, clocking up more than 1.5 million views to date on YouTube as a result of its growing cult status.
Recently picked up by Ministry of Sound and set to be released in November as a Defected/Ministry collaboration, the official music video has just been released. Watch it in all its panther-headed, shuffle-referencing glory right here:
