Lord March’s Goodwood Estate, famed for a string of major annual events including Glorious Goodwood and the Festival Of Speed, has announced a brand new festival documenting over 50 years of classic British music, art and fashion cool.
Co-launched by Red Or Dead fashion guru Wayne Hemingway, the new Vintage festival will feature a variety of arenas dedicated to different decades of British culture, starting with the 1940s and ending with the heady ‘Warehouse’ rave days of the 1980s.
The 70s and 80s dance music line-up is immense, covering off everything from Northern Soul to house via reggae, rare groove and disco. DJs confirmed include Andrew Weatherall, Danny Rampling, Ashley Beedle, A Guy Called Gerald, Norman Jay, Dave ‘Joey Negro’ Lee and Horse Meat Disco. Elsewhere, expect retro shows from the likes of Kid Creole & The Coconuts, Pete Hook (presenting an orchestral take on Joy Division,) Ronnie Wood and Mick Hucknall.
