London’s first ever all-vinyl lending library will open early next month.

The Vinyl Library, based in north London borough Stoke Newington, aims to cover a wide sweep of music, ranging from 1970s Afro-rock and vintage disco to UK garage and contemporary techno.  Users will be able to borrow and take home music or meet up at the venue to share ‘experiences’ face to face.  The Library promises free membership to anyone who donates records to its collection, as well as a full programme of lectures, workshops and DJ mixes.

Elly Randall, co-founder alongside Sophie Austin, says:  “By taking donations the library creates an opportunity for vinyl lovers to share their passion for music with others and gain access to a world of records whilst still being able to listen to their own.”

The Vinyl Library, a not-for-profit venture, opens (for donations) on July 1; hit www.facebook.com/TheVinylLibrary for more details.
