Three Chairs, Moodymann and Floating Points will all play the second annual Weather festival in Paris this summer.
Running June 6-9 at various venues around the French capital, the event celebrates a truly international array of house and techno talent. Legendary Detroit conglomerate Three Chairs – AKA Kenny ‘Moodymann’ Dixon Jr, Marcellus Pittman, Rick Wilhite and Theo Parrish – makes a rare appearance on the closing evening. Before that, revellers can expect to see Moodymann solo, Floating Points, live Underground Resistance band Timeline, the Moritz Von Oswald Trio (with Max Loderbauer and Tony Allen), Apollonia, Ben Klock, Mount Kimbie, Marcel Dettmann, Len Faki, Ricardo Villalobos, DJ Deep, Luke Slater (as Planetary Assault Systems), Chris Liebing, Marcel Fengler, Margaret Dygas, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Seth Troxler, Derrick May, Soundstream, Donato Dozzy, Francois X and Romanian techno soundsystem RPR (AKA Raresh, Petre Inspirescu and Rhadoo).
Weather’s opening night’s activities take place primarily at the Institut Du Monde Arabe (Kimbie, Timeline, Mortiz Von Oswald Trio) and the infamous Concrete boat party’s Port De La Rapee base (Apollonia), before proceedings shift to Parc Des Expositions Du Bourget – a 22-hour gathering over four stages, two outdoors. Full details regarding the final two days are yet to be revealed; look to http://weatherfestival.fr/ for updates.
