With Strictly Rhythm’s 20th Birthday celebrations already underway, we’re announcing our most ambitious release project yet.
We asked a selection of the world’s hottest house music producers, from Michel Cleis to H.O.S.H. to Bob Sinclar, simply “what’s your Strictly Rhythm?”
To answer this question, we opened up the illustrious Strictly archive to each and here we present their answers, in the form of a series of brand new remixes of Strictly originals from the last 20 years.
The project is Strictly Rhythm Est.1989. 20 years. Remixed.
From early August, we’re unveiling the Strictly 20th birthday singles on a weekly basis. Containing all the new mixes, some rarities plus the original versions, we’re kicking off with River Ocean’s Love & Happiness (Part One) remixed by David Penn, followed by Love & Happiness (Part Two) including a mix from Michel Cleis, then Armand Van Helden’s Witch Doktor, Sole Fusion’s Bass Tone and Wamdue Project’s King Of My Castle with new versions of each. We’ve got well over 20 new mixes to come and it will take us well into November to release everything!

On October 12, we’re releasing the full anniversary remix album with three vinyl EPs plus a full set of the original masterpieces alongside!
Over the coming weeks we’ll be speaking to all the key players in the Strictly Rhythm story. Phil Cheeseman will be presenting his personal history of Strictly, look out too for a Strictly Radio Special plus a mini-documentary. We’ll also be finding out exactly what the label and its 20th anniversary means to a new generation of producer/DJs and figures from the world of house music. There’s so much more to tell you about but we’re not going to do it all at once, so keep watching and we’ll be making the full announcements here first!
We’re continuing the celebrations that began in London in June with some very special birthday party events in New York City and Amsterdam in October.
