The documentary film, directed by Maik Diederen, was selected as one of fifteen Best British films at the Iris Prize LGBTQ+ festival 2024.

Taking place 08-13 October in Cardiff, Wales, the Iris Prize LGBTQ+ film festival celebrates and promotes LGBTQ+ stories and filmmaking, aiming to expand their reach and impact.

The festival has a proud partnership with Film4, enabling Iris to showcase their Best British programme of short films to a major viewership of over a million. Following the initial broadcast on Channel 4, all 15 shortlisted Best British films, which includes ‘Who’s Kitty Amor?’, are now streaming on https://channel4.com

'Who's Kitty Amor?' appeared as part of the Taking The Plunge programme, a compilation of four films nominated for the Iris Prize for Best British Short: 'Without risk, life can be terribly shallow. These films follow those who swallow fear and jump in the deep end'.

An all-encompassing narrative of Kitty’s story, 'Who’s Kitty Amor' documents her unique rise to international fame over the last two decades. From her South London upbringing, formative clubbing years at Nottingham University, to building her brand in the capital alongside Sef Kombo; her international DJ success across the globe, remarkable rise through the ranks of the UK scene and unwavering dedication to flying the flag for Africa’s electronic music is told like never before in the 22-minute documentary.

The festival nominat with the release of Kitty's new release on her imprint Mahaba Music - 'The Answer' with French-Senegalese vocalist AWEN. The single is the first from Kitty’s debut album, coming in 2025. ‘The Answer’ is a commentary on the tide turning towards womxn who DJ, a call for genuine equality and solidarity from two Afro electronic champions, and a captivating release for all marginalised people - by women.
