Have you ever thought 'I could write better than that', but haven't had a suitable outlet for your journalistic skills? Maybe you’ve been itching to tell the world about something that’s been bugging you about the scene? Or perhaps you’d just like to share your musings on a particular theme? Whatever you’re reasons, if you were born to write, we may have the answer for you….
For the next few weeks, we’ll be running a competition for budding journalists to write a feature for us. The theme can be anything that relates to dance music, whether that’s an emerging new genre, an artist interview and feature or a rant about, well, anything! As long as there’s a link to dance music, then it’s all good.
Entries must be no less than 500 and no more than 1,000 words and should be sent directly to greg@defected.com.
Entries should be submitted no later than 11th September and after a period of deliberation the winning feature will be published on the Defected site and featured in the weekly newsletter.
The winning author may, at the judge’s discretion, also be asked to become a regular feature writer for the website.
If you have any questions, please contact greg@defected.com. Good luck and happy writing!
